 Picked by Time Magazine as one of the 100 best English-language novels of all time, the work tells the story of the doomsayer Rorschach, a hero who apparently finds out a conspiracy that could threaten retired superheroes.

Blankets – Craig Thompson

In this work, Thompson portrays his own story by narrating his Midwestern American childhood characterized by an oppressive religion. He also describes his relationship with his little brother, who he constantly tries to protect.

Fun Home – Alison Bechdel

Picked by The Time Magazine as the book of the year in 2016, Fun Home is the autobiography of the artist Alison Bechdel. It chronicles her struggles with her own sexuality and her difficult relationship with her father with a lot of humor. 

Black Hole – Charles Burns

When it comes to Charles Burns’ horror stories, Black Hole is one of the best. The book takes place in the 1970’s and narrates the aftermath of a scary disease,  which apparently cannot be cured.
